It was a conversation with a client while on our way to see a listing that brought me to this juncture. The misperceptions about our current real estate market in the Greater Boston area, as well as the nation as a whole, are rampant. The media's opinion, as most often represented by Ms. Kimberly Blanton of The Boston Globe, is that the industry from which they reap hundreds upon thousands of dollars in weekly advertising revenue is on the verge of collapse. In this space I challenge myself to consistently bring honesty and clarity to the mass confusion tied to real estate in the general public. My perspective will of course be that of a REALTOR and as such, I have to qualify my thoughts with the disclaimer that I would not be in my profession if I did not truly believe that home ownership is the most vital investment in every successful financial portfolio. The emotional satisfaction aside, it is wise for each and every person to secure their own home and live to the best of their means. I cannot in good conscience profess this to my clients if I did not share this belief for myself.
To you, my readers and future contributors, I challenge you to contribute insightful commentary, difficult questions, and helpful stories for those who seek our collective advice. While this Blog will not and cannot substitute for the advice given by certified financial advisors, and other licensed and trained professionals in the fields that will most likely be discussed, I hope that we create a resource here to help guide people to the answers they seek, and a vessel to share the highs and lows we have all felt in the home buying and selling process.
Lastly, I will strive to make every attempt to avoid self promotion on this site as well as vigorously prevent others from taking similar advantage. I am only one of many highly talented and professional realtors and agents available to the people in and around Boston. This site will only be as strong as we make it, and I look forward to all that lies ahead!
